Profanity is included when emotions are intense. Most of the violent images are in the scenes that depict memories about slavery. A few of the scenes are bloody and/or disturbing. A hanging, suggestions of rape and other cruelties inflicted upon the slaves are portrayed in the film. The nudity includes the backside of a male exiting a bathtub, a pregnant woman who is not in her right mind and a young woman explaining to a man how she wants to have sex with him. It is a ghost story. A domestic drama shaped by the horrors of slavery. It is also a story that leaves room for your interpretation.
