MovieDescription: 30 DAYS OF NIGHT Cast: Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, Danny Huston, Jon Bennett, Ben Frazier. Directed by David Slade. This horror film is set in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost city in the United States. Sitting above the Arctic circle and in the middle of winter it experiences 30 continuous days without sunshine. A band of vampires takes advantage of this and moves in to devour the town. The MPAA rates the film "R" for strong violence and language. People are attacked with teeth and claws, with flesh ripped and blood flowing and spraying. Bodies are dismembered by being ripped apart, as well as by a variety of machines. Handguns, shotguns and rifles are used to shoot, kill, and wound. Blood is shown on many wounded and dying. Children are shown dead and dying, covered in blood. Vampires are burned by sunlight, with their flesh turning to ash. Vampires are graphically decapitated to ensure their demise. Strong, mild and profane language is used. People pleading for help from God are taunted by vampires exclaiming there is no God. A vampire's brain is ripped from his head on screen. There is no nudity in the film. Veiled references to sexual activity are made. Drug references and use are implied, including by a grandmother who smokes marijuana to deal with her cancer. Alcohol and tobacco are used in the film.
