In this remake of the seminal horror film, a man who was burned alive by angry parents for the molestation and torture of their preschool children has come back to haunt the dreams of the now teenagers. The nightmare begins when injuries sustained in their dreams, from Freddys knife-blade claws, impact them in reality. The MPAA rates the film R for strong violence, disturbing images, and language. Knife blades are used to slash and stab. Throats are slit and a mans hand is severed. Copious amounts of blood are shown flowing from wounds. Walls and floors are coated in blood as the villain torments and ultimately kills his victims. A woman appears to be drowning in blood. Preschool-age children are shown with healing wounds on their bodies. Scenes imply molestation and torment of children but none is actually shown. A man is burned alive, engulfed in flames. Strong and profane language is used throughout the film. Some slang and double entendre is used to imply sexual activity. Teens abuse a prescription drug. There is no alcohol or tobacco use by the main characters.
