MovieDescription: THE COLLECTOR Cast: Josh Stewart, Madeline Zima, Michael Reilly Burke, Andrea Roth, Juan Fernandez. Directed by Marcus Dunstan. In this thriller, Arkin is a handyman with friends and an ex-wife on the wrong side of the law. When she and their young daughters lives are threatened by a loan shark, Arkin agrees to rob his employers country estate to pay off the debt, but when Arkin enters the dark house he soon finds he is not alone. The MPAA has rated this film R for bloody violence, language and sexuality/nudity. This film contains several instances of strong language and profanity. The members of the familyhusband and wife, and young daughterare all being stalked by a masked collector who has created a maze of lethal traps, trip wires, and torture devices for the purpose of causing suffering and death. As the clock ticks toward midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero who ironically must abandon his robbery plans to save the family and himself. Viewers will see characters in various states of terror, bloodied by torture and shackles, disemboweled, feet nailed to the floor, impaled by flying knives and other sharp items. The youngest child sees her fathers bloody body hanging upside down. Gratuitous nudity and sex are interspersed throughout. Several protracted scenes of the two teenagers include close-up shots of bare breasts.
