In this fantasy adventure, a young man finds a dragons egg and is then drawn into conflict with a ruthless king. When the dragon hatches, the boy is transformed into a brave dragonrider called to lead the oppressed against the evil king. The MPAA rates the film PG for fantasy violence, battle sequences and thematic elements. Magic spells are cast to create fire, which consumes people and monsters. Magic is used to inflict pain on a helpless woman. Monsters attack people with punches, kicks and edged weapons. People are shot with arrows and stabbed with swords, though little blood is shown. A dragon and a dragon-like monster bite people and each other. People and monsters appear to fall and then die from their wounds. An evil wizard disintegrates into ash when he transforms. Some profane language is used in the film. Adults appear to be drinking alcohol to the point of intoxication.
