MovieDescription: HOOT Cast: Logan Lerman, Brie Larson, Cody Linley, Luke Wilson, Jimmy Buffet. Directed by Wil Shriner. The new kid in town is intrigued by a barefoot boy running through town and follows him. He discovers that he and his sister are behind some notorious acts of vandalism at a local construction site, attempting to delay the project to protect a species of owls that nest in holes in the ground. The MPAA has rated this film PG for bullying and language. The movie includes a few instances of mild language. The scenes of bullying include middle school students being shoved, punched and taunted. In one scene a boy punches another and breaks his bloodied nose. Another scene features boys fighting each other and another character coming in and beating up the bully. Other scenes of comic violence are mostly of a slapstick nature. The film depicts a kid engaging in acts of vandalism, which escalate as the movie progresses. A boy spray paints the windows of a police car black. Vicious dogs guard the lot and bite a boy in the arm causing him to need hospitalization. A bag of poisonous snakes is released onto the lot to frighten the developers' guard dogs. In a different scene, kids bound and gag an adult man to prevent his plans from moving forward. References are made to abusive and neglectful parents.
