MovieDescription: 8 BELOW Cast: Paul Walker, Bruce Greenwood, Moon Bloodgood, Jason Biggs. Directed by Frank Marshall. A survival guide takes a geologist on a risky expedition at the South Pole led by eight sled dogs. Severe weather cuts their trip short and health issues cause them to immediately evacuate their base camp. They are forced to leave the dogs behind for what they think will be a matter of days; however, the weather worsens and there appears to be no way back to rescue the dogs. Deeply distraught and devoted to the animals, the guide explores every avenue possible to return to his beloved team of sled dogs. The MPAA has rated this film PG for thematic elements and language. The film includes some tense moments of human and animal survival in the harsh winter conditions. In two instances a man's life is endangered when he falls through the ice into frigid waters. In both instances the man is saved, but he suffers severely when his leg is badly broken. Another man suffers from extreme frostbite. Mature themes of the film include the survival efforts of the dogs in which they hunt and kill prey. There are two brief instances of mild language in the film.
