Live action feature film based on the animated 1970s television show of the same name. Feeling left out and lonely, a high school girl's tears fall on her television remote control and cause an animated Fat Albert to jump out of the TV screen and into the real world as a live action character. Fat Albert's gang soon follows after him. The characters live in modern-day North Philadelphia and try to help the girl regain some confidence and make some new friends. Fat Albert falls for the girl's foster sister and has some hesitation about returning to his cartoon world. Albert is torn between his cartoon home and the new opportunities and relationships that the real world offers him. The MPAA has rated this film PG for language. This film includes an inference to a character using profanity within incomprehensible dialogue. One scene of teenagers partying includes no drug or alcohol use. The film has no violence or sexual content.
