In this animal action film, an alien dog from a distant planet is sent to investigate dog behavior on Earth. The eventual plan is to invade the Earth and recall all dogs back to "Dog Star," the dog planet. A lonely boy whose family is planning to move befriends one alien dog. Other dogs from Earth are part of the story. The MPAA rating is PG for some mild crude humor. The boy gains the ability to hear what the dogs are saying and carries on conversations with them. He eventually makes a strong case for why dogs should remain man's best friend.
