MovieDescription: DICKIE ROBERTS: FORMER CHILD STAR Cast: David Spade, Jon Lovitz, Numerous Former Child Actors. Directed by Sam Weizman. A thirty-something former child star longs for the love he felt as a child star and seeks to re-create that feeling by making a show business comeback. In order to prepare himself for an upcoming audition, he hires a foster family to re-create the childhood he never had. The MPAA has rated this move PG-13 for crude sex-related humor, language and drug references. Mild to strong language occurs frequently throughout the movie and often includes crude references to bodily functions and sexual references made either to, or in the presence of preadolescents about their mother. Off-camera a man is beaten by a stranger acting out road rage. Viewers see the victim in the hospital later. One verbal reference is made about Jesus the Carpenter. Several scenes include the main character using crude hand gestures, using slang terms for drugs, drinking alcohol in front of children, and in one scene putting a camera in his pants and photographing his genitals. The father in this movie is portrayed as self-absorbed, neglectful of his children and verbally abusive to his wife. Eventually, he abandons his family for another woman.
