Animated racecars enjoy NASCAR-style racing for the coveted Piston Cup. One arrogant rookie thinks he can win the race all on his own, yet ends up in a three-way tie. A new race is scheduled to decide the winner and on the way to the race in California, the rookie car falls off his truck and ends up with a debt to pay in a sleepy town off of Route 66. The MPAA has rated this film G. The film contains several scenes of cartoon violence including many cars crashing in a race, reckless driving and near collisions. In one dream scene a car is depicted firing lightning bolts at large alien creatures, causing explosions. In another scene a police car shoots a car's tires flat in order to prevent his escape. Some mild crude humor is included involving bodily functions.
